| BRIDGE PROGRAM (for basic skill levels 5 through 8, and Freeskate 1 through 4)Tri-town Ice Arena’s new and exciting addition to our successful Learn to Skate Program. With the growing popularity and increasing enrollment of our “learn to” skaters, the Bridge Program is the essential link in introducing your beginning skaters into the sport of figure skating, and our USFSA member club here at Tri-Town Ice Arena, The Granite State Figure Skating Club. The Bridge Program is designed to teach skating skills at a faster pace, in a group lesson environment. All Skaters enrolled in this program will be registered with the USFSA, and receive a Basic Skills record book, as well as badges for each level successfully passed. Each skater will learn a routine set to music, which will include all of the maneuvers for their specific skill level. This will show the skater how to utilize the entire ice surface, as well as introduce them to what they would need if ever interested in competitive skating. However, the emphasis will continue to be on the badge curriculum so they can officially pass each level, and earn their badges. In addition to learning the standard skills, skaters will also be introduced to proper stretching techniques, warm-up and cool-down exercises, introductory Moves in the Field, introductory Ice Dance, spins and jumps. The Bridge Program will meet Monday evenings at 6:15 p.m., beginning September 12, 2005. The session will run 8 weeks, just as the learn to skate classes. Cost for the Bridge Program is $128 for 8 weeks. If you have any further questions, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to call Jen Hurley at 270-1022 or 485-1100. |
